Fungal sinusitis is the inflammation of the mucosal lining of the paranasal sinuses by fungal infection. It occurs in middle aged population, especially those suffering from diabetes. It can be of different types. A sinus can be completed filled with a ball of fungus and debris. Maxillary sinuses are the ones commonly affected. The symptoms are fullness, pressure and discharge. Second common type is Allergic Fungal Rhino sinusitis. Rubbery thick golden yellow secretions are the characteristics symptoms. Treatment is endoscopic sinus surgery with medical management also.
